Tetrahydrokanabivarin (Δ9-THCV) · Currently out of stock
THCV, tetrahydrocannabivarin, is a natural phytocannabinoid with a three-carbon side chain. In low doses it paradoxically dampens THC effects, in higher doses it acts mildly psychoactive.
If you are interested in products with higher THCV content, follow the news in our shop or write to us. This page serves as an informational resource for now.
THCV occurs primarily in African cannabis genetics (e.g. Durban Poison or some Ethiopian landraces). Structurally it differs from THC by a shorter side chain (propyl instead of pentyl), which fundamentally changes its pharmacological profile. THCV acts as a neutral antagonist of the CB1 receptor at low doses and as a partial agonist at higher doses. This dual role is unique in cannabinoid chemistry.
Commercial interest in THCV is growing mainly because of its effect on appetite and glucose metabolism. Studies (Wargent et al. 2013) showed THCV's potential to support glycemic control in type 2 diabetics. THCV is sold as an isolate or full-spectrum extract with higher THCV content (5–10%).
Main difference from THC: THCV suppresses appetite (the opposite of THC). Users describe clean mental focus, light euphoria without sedation and increased energy. At very high doses THCV may be mildly psychoactive with short duration (1.5–3 hours). Among monitored benefits are support for thermoregulation, insulin sensitivity and reduction of anxiety associated with panic disorder. Clinical THCV studies are still ongoing, but available data suggest a good safety profile.
THCV itself is not listed as an addictive substance in the CZ. If it comes from legal hemp (up to 1% THC in dry matter) and the isolate does not contain psychoactive amounts of THC, it can be distributed in the CZ as part of dietary supplements or cosmetics. Higher concentrations of isolated psychoactive forms may fall under regulation. We recommend that sellers consult each batch with a laboratory and lawyer.
Legislation is evolving. This text is not legal advice – for specific cases we recommend consulting a lawyer.

Yes. THCV itself is not listed among prohibited addictive substances in the CZ. In concentrations originating from legal hemp (up to 1% THC in dry matter) it is fully permitted here – we just currently don't have it in stock; once a verified batch arrives, we will add to the offer.
