CBD Oil – Guide to Concentrations, Dosing and Quality (5 / 10 / 20 / 30 %)

CBD oil is the most widely used form of cannabidiol in the Czech Republic and is the best starting point into the world of cannabis wellness for most people. At CBDsvět.cz you will find CBD drops in concentrations of 5%, 10%, 20%, and 30%, made from certified Czech and European hemp via supercritical CO2 extraction. Every oil is bottled in a dark glass vial with a pipette for precise sublingual dosing, and every batch is independently tested in a Czech accredited laboratory.

This page is a long buying guide: we will walk you through choosing the right concentration, show you a simple dose titration protocol, explain possible side effects and drug interactions, take an honest look at CBD and driving and drug tests, compare full spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolate, and finally break down how to recognize a truly high-quality Czech CBD oil. If you are in a hurry to find a specific concentration, jump straight to 5%, 10%, 20%, or 30% CBD oil in the subcategories above.

How much CBD do you actually need? It depends on body weight, the sensitivity of your endocannabinoid system, and the reason for use. For light everyday well-being, sleep support, or rounding out a wellness routine, most people are fine with 10–25 mg of CBD per day, which is the domain of the 5% and 10% concentrations. For chronic stress, more pronounced pain, or intensive recovery after exercise, the typical range is 25–60 mg per day — here a 20% oil makes sense. A 30% CBD oil is then reserved for experienced users with high tolerance who need a concentrated dose in the smallest possible volume of drops.

CBD is a non-intoxicating substance. You will not get "high" from it, even at a 100 mg dose, because it does not act on CB1 receptors in the brain in the same agonistic way as THC. What it does is something gentler — it modulates the endocannabinoid system, influences 5-HT1A serotonin receptors, GABA receptors, and TRPV1 pathways. In practice, this shows up as reduced stress reactivity, easier falling asleep, and an overall sense of calm that creeps in gradually and is usually not dramatic from the first dose. You typically see real results from CBD oil only after 2–4 weeks of regular use.

At CBDsvět.cz we focus on transparency. With every CBD oil you will find a laboratory certificate (COA) with a breakdown of the cannabinoid profile (CBD, CBDA, CBG, CBN, THC), heavy metals, residual pesticides, mycotoxins, and residual solvents. The hemp we press the oil from comes from Czech organic production or from certified farms in the EU — never from anonymous Asian sources with an uncertain pesticide history. We deliver next day throughout the Czech Republic, and if you are not satisfied, we refund your money within 14 days, no questions asked.

Buying guide

Jakou koncentraci CBD oleje vybrat – 5, 10, 20, nebo 30 %?

The percentage on the bottle says nothing about quality, only how many milligrams of CBD are in a single drop. A 5% oil (~2.5 mg/drop) is the ideal start for beginners and more sensitive users — you can easily find the minimum effective dose. A 10% oil (~5 mg/drop) is the best-selling all-rounder for regular use: stress, sleep, light back pain. A 20% oil (~10 mg/drop) is the advanced choice for chronic issues, intensive recovery, or when 10% is no longer enough. 30% (~15 mg/drop) is reserved for experienced users with proven tolerance, especially for supervised therapeutic use. Rule of thumb: rather start with a lower concentration and more drops than the other way around — titration is then more precise and cheaper.

Dávkování CBD oleje krok za krokem (titrace)

Always titrate gradually. Week 1: 2 drops (5% or 10%) in the morning and 2 drops in the evening under the tongue, hold for 60 seconds and swallow. Week 2: if you do not feel an effect, add +1 drop to both the morning and evening dose. Continue at the same pace every 5–7 days until you reach the desired effect, or until you experience drowsiness, dry mouth, or sleepiness — then step back. Most users find their optimal daily dose in the 15–60 mg CBD range. Keep a simple journal (date, dose, how you felt falling asleep, in the morning) — after a month you will see the pattern much more clearly than from memory. Keep the morning dose on the lower side (encourages focus), the evening dose higher (calm, sleep).

Vedlejší účinky a interakce CBD s léky

CBD has a very good safety profile — the World Health Organization (WHO) officially classified it in 2018 as a substance with no potential for addiction and no risk of abuse. The most common mild adverse effects include dry mouth, mild drowsiness (especially with higher evening doses), drops in blood pressure, or transient diarrhea at the start of use. Watch out for drug interactions: CBD is metabolized via the liver enzymes CYP3A4 and CYP2C19, so it can slow the breakdown of warfarin, some antidepressants (SSRIs), antiepileptics, statins, and benzodiazepines. If you take chronic medication, always consult starting CBD oil with your doctor or pharmacist and begin with a lower concentration (5%).

CBD and driving + drug tests in the Czech Republic

CBD itself is not restricted for drivers in the Czech Republic — it is not psychoactive and is not tested for in roadside checks. The risk, however, comes from trace THC, which is legally present in every full spectrum CBD oil (up to 0.3%, or 1% under current legislation). The standard police roadside saliva test (DrugWipe) detects THC, not CBD. At a normal dose of a quality full spectrum oil, the risk of a positive test is very low but not zero — especially with very high daily doses (60+ mg) or long-term use of 30% oil, when THC accumulates in fatty tissue. If you drive professionally (truck driver, paramedic, pilot, soldier) or are regularly subject to workplace drug tests, choose broad spectrum or isolate without hesitation — they contain 0.00% THC and the risk of a false-positive test is thereby eliminated.

Full spectrum, broad spectrum, nebo izolát?

Full spectrum CBD contains the complete profile of cannabinoids (CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC), terpenes, and flavonoids, including legal traces of THC. These substances potentiate each other — a phenomenon called the entourage effect — and the overall effect is therefore more pronounced at a lower dose. We recommend it if you have no professional reason to avoid THC. Broad spectrum goes through an extra purification step that removes THC but leaves other cannabinoids and terpenes — a compromise between the entourage effect and 100% certainty of zero THC. Isolate is pure crystalline CBD (>99%) dissolved in a carrier oil — flavorless, odorless, without other cannabinoids. It suits users sensitive to the flavor of cannabis, professional drivers, and anyone who wants to count milligrams precisely without the influence of other substances.

Kvalita, laboratorní testy a co kontrolovat na obalu

Before you buy any CBD oil, check four things with the seller. (1) Laboratory certificate (COA) — it must be traceable, contain a current batch date, and the bottle number must match what you hold in your hand. (2) Type of extraction — CO2 extraction is the quality standard; avoid oils made with ethanol or even hexane without a purification step. (3) Carrier oil — most often MCT from coconut (flavor-neutral, well absorbed) or hemp oil (natural flavor, omega-3). (4) Origin of the hemp — prefer the Czech Republic and EU with certification; with unnamed Chinese and American sources, pesticide control is often missing. Our oils at CBDsvět.cz meet these four conditions for 100% of batches.

When and how to use

Každodenní wellness

Regular use of CBD oil can support the overall balance of the body and strengthen the natural endocannabinoid system. Ideal to start with 5% or 10% drops.

Podpora spánku

A higher evening CBD dose 30–60 minutes before bed helps calm the mind, shorten sleep onset, and deepen the deep sleep phases. Try a combination with our CBD lemon balm teas.

Zvládání stresu a úzkosti

CBD has well-documented anxiolytic properties — it reduces stress reactivity without dulling. For everyday use choose 10%, during peak periods 20%.

Sportovní regenerace

CBD oil after a workout supports muscle recovery and reduces inflammatory processes. During intensive training blocks reach straight for 20% concentration.

Combining with hemp flowers and teas

CBD oil pairs well with our CBD flowers (faster onset via vaporization) and CBD teas (long, mild effect after meals). Layering formats improves user comfort.

Frequently asked questions

For a complete beginner we recommend starting with 5% CBD oil (typically 2.5 mg CBD per drop). This makes it easy to find the minimum effective dose without unnecessarily overshooting. After 4–6 weeks, if you need a stronger effect, you can move on to 10%.
Start with 2 drops twice a day (morning and evening) under the tongue and after 5–7 days add 1 drop until you reach the desired effect. Most people find their optimal dose in the 15–60 mg CBD per day range. With a 10% oil, that corresponds to 3–12 drops per day.
Yes, CBD itself is not psychoactive and is not tested for in roadside checks. The risk is from trace THC in full spectrum oil. At normal doses of a quality oil the risk is low but not zero. Professional drivers, pilots, and people facing regular drug tests should choose broad spectrum or isolate with 0.00% THC.
A standard roadside test detects THC, not CBD. At normal doses (up to 30 mg CBD per day) from a quality oil with declared THC content under 0.3%, a positive test is very unlikely. The risk grows with long-term use of 30% full spectrum oil. If you are subject to workplace testing, choose broad spectrum or isolate.
CBD is metabolized by the same liver enzymes (CYP3A4, CYP2C19) as many medications — warfarin, some SSRIs, antiepileptics, statins, benzodiazepines. It can amplify and prolong their effect. If you take chronic medication, always consult starting CBD with a doctor or pharmacist and begin with a lower concentration (5%).
Quality CBD oil has a traceable laboratory certificate (COA) tied directly to the batch number, is produced by CO2 extraction, packaged in a dark glass bottle with a pipette, and has a clearly stated carrier oil (MCT from coconut or hemp). The hemp should come from certified Czech or European production. Avoid anonymous Asian sources and oils without a public COA.
Full spectrum contains the complete cannabinoid profile, including legal traces of THC — thanks to the entourage effect, the strongest effect at a lower dose. Broad spectrum has THC removed but keeps the other cannabinoids and terpenes. Isolate is pure CBD (>99%) without other substances — flavorless, odorless, THC-free. The choice depends on whether you need 0.00% THC and how the flavor of cannabis suits you.
At a normal dose of 6 drops per day, a 10ml bottle lasts roughly 30–35 days, regardless of concentration. So a higher concentration is not double the price — the same bottle just contains more milligrams of CBD. After opening, we recommend using within 6 months; an unopened bottle lasts 12–24 months in a cool, dark place.
