CBG Oil 5% Full-Spectrum Drops
“CBG Oil – 5%. The power of nature in every drop. Discover the effects!”
CBG oil (also referred to as CBG drops or CBG hemp oil) is the name for a product derived from the cannabis plant, where the carrier of the active substances of the CBG extract is a vegetable oil (in the case of our oils we use MCT oil). This is because CBG is (just like other cannabinoids) fat-soluble, and consuming it together with fats maximises its effectiveness.

Product description and active substances:
What is CBG?
CBG is the abbreviation for the English name cannabigerol. This compound is one of more than a hundred cannabinoids, a group of substances that also includes THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol).
In unbred hemp, CBG is the third most abundant cannabinoid.
CBG is formed from CBGA (cannabigerolic acid), which serves as the basic building block for a whole range of other compounds such as CBD, THC or other cannabinoids.
What effects does it have?
The broad spectrum of CBG's properties stems from its ability to bind to receptors across a wide range of tissues and organs, thereby modulating inflammatory responses and cellular processes. Among other things, cannabigerol – just like CBD – binds weakly to the CB1 endocannabinoid receptor. These receptors are found (among other places) in the brain, and their activation produces the well-known psychoactive effects that we most often associate with THC. Thanks to this weak binding, cannabigerol does not activate CB1 receptors – and moreover it prevents THC molecules from binding, thereby dampening their psychotropic effect.
So far, unlike other cannabinoids, relatively few studies have explored the effects of cannabigerol. Most of them were moreover carried out on animal models or in laboratories. The results of the studies, however, give us reason for optimism.
CBG and chronic inflammatory bowel disease
According to the results of an Italian study from 2013, cannabigerol shows the ability to help suppress inflammatory bowel diseases and thereby relieve their symptoms. People with chronic inflammatory bowel problems often suffer from long-term diarrhoea and abdominal pain, blood in the stool and weight loss. These illnesses, which include for example Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, have something in common: the intestines are attacked by the body's own immune system. Treating these inflammations is rather difficult and consists of relieving the symptoms. In most cases hormonal corticosteroid medications are used, but these have a number of serious side effects: increased blood sugar levels and a possible risk of diabetes, altered body fat distribution, skin problems, increased appetite. In the mentioned study, CBG was able to restore the protection of intestinal cells against dangerous free radicals (which can cause e.g. tumour growth) and suppress the inflammatory response. CBG's anti-inflammatory ability is confirmed by other studies as well.
Multiple sclerosis and other neurodegenerative diseases
Multiple sclerosis is a serious disease in which the immune system attacks nerve cells and causes the degradation of their protective layer, myelin. The conductivity of the affected nerves is reduced or lost; this leads to muscle weakness, sensory problems and a decline in mental abilities. As the disease progresses, people with multiple sclerosis become confined to a wheelchair and their ability to take care of themselves declines. There is as yet no cure for the disease. Certain preparations can, however, slow the progression of the illness. As with other inflammatory diseases, corticosteroids are used to suppress the immune system. Cannabigerol could be a promising remedy. Two studies from 2012 and 2014 demonstrated the ability of modified CBG to protect nerves from immune-system damage. In mice, the application of CBG was able to restore motor functions to a state of normal mobility and noticeably reduce damage to the nerve sheaths. The neuroprotective function of cannabigerol could also be applied to other diseases associated with nerve damage: Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). A 2019 test-tube experiment pointed to the possibility of improving nerve protection with CBG by adding CBD. According to the study's results, this mixture moreover also has higher neuroprotective properties than cannabidiol alone.
Pain relief
CBG has a similar mechanism of action to Ibalgin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory painkillers. There is therefore a possibility that cannabigerol could become an alternative to these medications. According to an older study, CBG is even more effective against pain than THC.
Diabetes (diabetes mellitus)
A 2018 study pointed to the possibility of using hemp extract (with a high content of CBG and CBD) to reduce the activity of aldose reductase and thereby relieve diabetes-related damage to the body. The enzyme aldose reductase is involved in the conversion of sugars within cells, which leads to the typical health problems of diabetics: neuropathy (and the associated pain), damage to the kidneys and retina (which can even lead to blindness) or the development of cataracts. The main advantage of CBG and other cannabinoids, however, is their ability to pass through cell membranes. The components of the hemp extract would thus reach the cells of the retina, something that current aldose-reductase-suppressing drugs struggle greatly with. Conventional medications moreover have relatively serious side effects (digestive problems, elevated liver enzyme levels). Tumour diseases A number of studies discuss cannabigerol's ability to suppress tumour growth – on human cells in a test tube. Among other things, CBG was shown to suppress tumour growth of: breast (CBD is nevertheless more effective according to the study), prostate (together with CBD), colon, stomach, skin (mouse cells). The exact mechanism of action is not known. It is, however, speculated that CBG triggers so-called cell death (apoptosis) in tumour cells. Research on animal models from 2014 pointed to the possibility of using CBG not only to treat tumours but also their formation. In mice, the application of cannabigerol slowed the development of colon cancer. CBG's ability to stimulate appetite also offers great potential. It is precisely loss of appetite that a large proportion of oncology patients struggle with.
Glaucoma
Glaucoma is caused by damage to the optic nerve due to high intraocular pressure. The eye compresses the blood vessels leading to the nerve and impairs its supply of necessary nutrients. In affected people (several tens of millions worldwide), vision deteriorates as the nerve gradually dies off. Its regenerative abilities are moreover limited, so the damage is practically irreversible. A 2008 study points to the possibility of treating glaucoma by reducing the pressure inside the eye with CBG.
Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease that affects 2 to 4% of people. It is a genetically determined disease caused by the rapid growth of skin cells and their premature keratinisation. These factors lead to frequent inflammation. With psoriasis, reddened, scaly patches form on the skin. Some patients also experience joint inflammation (psoriatic arthritis). Cannabigerol shows the ability to slow the excessive proliferation of skin cells. It could thus be an alternative to conventional psoriasis medications, which have a number of side effects (including the corticosteroids mentioned several times already).
Urination problems
A test-tube experiment showed that CBG could be a promising means of relieving urination problems (inability to urinate, incontinence, etc.). This is also confirmed by numerous accounts of people who use hemp precisely for these problems.
Bone loss (osteoporosis)
According to an English study from 2007, CBG stimulates the activity of certain components of the immune system that activate the renewal of bone tissue. Cannabigerol thus offers therapeutic use in bone loss, which a number of seniors and post-menopausal women struggle with.
The active substances in our oils are dissolved in MCT oil. When using full-spectrum and broad-spectrum oils, the so-called entourage effect occurs, in which the cannabinoids mutually support each other in their therapeutic potential (and a smaller number of drops is enough to achieve an effect). CBG oils are dropped under the tongue and you can get them in concentrations from 5 to 20%. Thanks to oral administration, cannabigerol gets into the bloodstream relatively quickly and starts working after just 20 minutes. Its effect lasts several hours. This method of use is suitable above all for intestinal problems, but thanks to the blood, cannabigerol also reaches other tissues and organs.
CBG oil can be used on skin problems and sore muscles. Their application is simple – just apply the cream to the affected area and let it work. Ointments must not be used internally.
Side effects of CBG products. No studies have yet been conducted on the side effects of using CBG products. According to user accounts, however, CBG is well tolerated. You should be cautious if you are taking any medications. CBG should not be used by pregnant and breastfeeding women – it is not clear what effect cannabigerol may have on a developing foetus or infant.
